The Couple

These two love birds have been together for three years, and what an adventure those three years have been!

Bride

Emily

Emily loves dogs, coffee, design and sweatpants. Since meeting Jeremy, her life has never been more filled with love, laughter, goofiness, respect and joy—and yes, she's learned to appreciate the art and strategy of video games. She can't wait to begin the next chapter of her life with Jeremy right along side for the adventure forever and always!

Groom

Jeremy

Jeremy loves the Green Bay Packers, video games, burritos, and business. Since meeting Emily he has developed a remarkable sense of style, experienced things he never knew he'd enjoy (like all of Emily's favorite festivals, snuggling, roadtripping, etc.), and loved more than he ever thought possible. He can't wait to marry the love of his life!

We can't wait to celebrate with you all! Don't forget to RSVP.

Our Love Story

Every love story has twists and turns, ups and downs, and big milestones. Here are some of ours so far.

Friends at First Sight

August, 2012

Emily and Jeremy met while both working at the Family Video store on South Main Street in Bloomington, IL. They spent that first shift together doing a lot more talking than working, and soon discovered they shared similar movie tastes like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Marvel and similar interests like tacos, beer and darts. Those things seemed to match up quite well, and so began a friendship full of fun, nights out, and lots of movie marathons.

The First Date

February, 2013

Emily had already moved to Chicago to pursue her graphic design career and dream of living in the city, but was visiting Bloomington to spend time with family (and of course, see her very good friend Jeremy). For some reason (she couldn't quite put her finger on it), this weekend felt different. There was a different kind of energy between she and Jeremy—one happy thing led to another and by the end of the weekend, they were on their first date at Avanti's. The tricky part, they would find, would be navigating the long distance...

Love Conquers All

May, 2014

After almost a year and a half of dating 150 miles apart, Emily and Jeremy said enough was enough and decided to take the plunge. They were in love, and needed to live in the same town. Emily has always considered Bloomington her home, and so without looking back, moved back home to family and most importantly, love. Through the long distance and the transition to togetherness, they quickly learned not to take the time they had together for granted, and to cherish every moment.

First Apartment

August, 2014

When Emily first moved back to Bloomington, her brother and his family graciously let her live with them for a while. But soon the time came for her to get an apartment. One evening, Jeremy asked if Emily would move in with him—and she said yes!...and so did their friend Adam and Jeremy's brother Daniel (after all, the cheaper the rent the better, right!?).

The Proposal!!

February, 2015

Emily and Jeremy's dating anniversary is February 17th, so naturally they decided to plan a lovely weekend to celebrate 2 years together. They planned to stay in town, go out to Kobe Steakhouse and then come back to a great room at the Marriott hotel in Uptown Normal. When the door to their hotel suite opened, Emily was greeted with the entire room decked out in candles (she admits that her first thought was, "ohhh, did we pay for this?"—haha). As she entered, she noticed a semi-circle of candles on the desk with a note from Jeremy: "Dear Emily, I love you. Love, Jeremy. P.S. Will..." It took her a second to realize what the "Will..." meant, but as soon as she turned around, Jeremy was there on one knee.

"Will you marry me, Emily?"....*deep breaths*..*eyes whelling up*..*oh my gosh!*..."YES!!"

The rest of the evening was spent calling family and friends, freaking out, laughing, (smooching!), and of course, admiring the ring!

Home Sweet Home

July, 2015

Talk about a whirlwind! Just months after getting engaged and starting the beginning stages of planning a wedding, Emily and Jeremy weighed the pros and cons, and decided to purchase their first home. Knowing that they would want to have a place of their own once they were married, and wanting to begin building their home for their future family made the decision easy, and they closed on their first home on July 1st.

Our First Furbaby!

October, 2015

A project in one of Jeremy's classes put Emily and Jeremy in contact with Arrow Dog Rescue, a local no-kill shelter in town. Emily fell in love with Miz Emma Tisdale from the moment she saw her picture, and convinced Jeremy to bring her home as a foster pup. Not a day after welcoming her to their home, Jeremy announced "well, I guess we have a dog now!" Emma loves walks and treats, is such a snuggle bug, and has pretty much taken rule of the house. They are both so in love with their furbaby and thinks she makes a wonderful addition to their family! #fosterfail

The Ceremony

July 2nd, 2016

Emily has known for years that she would want to get married in the same little chapel as her parents, in her favorite place in the entire world, Caroga Lake, New York. And Jeremy loved the idea as well. The private ceremony took place just steps away from Caroga Lake, and they celebrated afterward with close family and friends with a backyard cookout at the family lake house, just down the road. The day was beyond perfect and we cannot wait to share it with all of you at the reception. We're also planning on adding photos from the day below in the gallery as soon as they are available!
